Fund Raising Update

Fund Raising update:

A quick update of a lot of great work.
Before detailing what’s been happening we wanted to remind families of our next main event.

QUIZ NIGHT – Friday 21 June – Forrester Rugby Club 7.30-11pm
A further main fundraiser and another great opportunity to meet other Touch families. A super night is planned with a Fun Quiz, Irish Bingo, Had and Tails and a Raffle.
Tickets are still available at £5 each or there is an offer of 3 for 2. They can be bought on the door or purchased in advance from Jamie Speer and John Jamieson.
Any further donations of raffle prizes can be brought on the night.
Full details of the event are in the Touch Calender. and will take place at Forrester Rugby Club, South Gyle Access, EH12 9FR
Thank you to Jamie, John and Craig Fraser for organising this.

Race Night:
A really succesful night which was enjoyed by all and raised an incredible £7500.
Thanks to Sean Lineen, our auctioneer and Danny our race master for helping make the evening so successful. Thank you also to all those who donated our fabulous auction and raffle prizes. We had an incredible selection!

Sunday Cake stall
This has proved to be a fantastic money spinner and over the past couple of months has raised a total of £1429 for the tour fund. Thank you to all those that have baked goodies for the stall and Gill for coordinating our rota. A further thank you to the Mauritzen team who provided bacon and egg rolls on Sunday of last week. What a great idea! They raised an incredible £145!

Car Boot Sale
Well done to Moira Byrne and Carol Ann Wilkinson for rasing £140 at the Falkirk event.

Squad photos
Photos from sales of our squads have raised £140 to date. With the U18 mixed and U18 boys about to be released this figure will go up further. Thank you to Jamie Johnston, our Academy photographer, for taking these. Photos will be published on this site and Facebook and players/parents should contact Jamie directly to order. They will be distributed at training.

Glass Event
A huge thank you to Ann Maitland for hosting this wonderful afternoon of glass making.
An amazing £400 was raised.

£50 player fundraising
Congratulations to Hannah Dunnet and Hamish Munn on being our first players to raise their £50. Hannah worked in a florists and Hamish has sold Scottish flags.
Can I encourage all other players to embrace this challenge. As well as providing an opportunity for our players to be personally involved in the fundraising it could also raise in the realms of a further £3000!!

Rotary Application
Gill Pratt has informed me of a successful application to the Edinburgh Rotary Club on behalf of Robin for kit. He has been awarded £100. Something definitely worth exploring for those in districts outwith central Edinburgh (this has already been gifted!)
P{lease speak with Gill for more information and I will forward her application as a template by email

So, some amazing work is going on. In total we have raised around £11000 for the tour. I hope this figure motivates you all to keep raising important funds to support our players in their trip to the Junior Touch Championships in August.
Any further thoughts or ideas please feel free to pass them on.
