In a game that had to be shifted down to Oglesby Park at the last minute. The young Greens were in cup action against a Morley side Who last season won the Yorkshire Under 17 cup final.
A tough encounter was expected and so it panned out.
Boyed by an opening game win at Dinnington iT was the Home side Who were first out the blocks dominating posession in the first few minutes.
Scunthorpe opened the scoring on 5 minutes with a Matthew Boden try however hè was unable to convert it himself.
Morley started to Find there feet and slowly upped the tempo thru the impressie 13 and 15.
On 20 minutes iT was all square with the visitors going over to make iT 5 apiece. The conversion was a bit of a mess with the ball faling as the locker steppes up.
The half closed out with both sides having and squandering posession too easily. On 35 minutes the Greens were reduced to 14 when keir gosling was shown yellow for a tip tackle.
Changes at half time saw the Greens shuffle the pack around giving a bit more stability to the front 3. However iT was Morley Who shot out the blocks.
A heavy clash on the Scunthorpe 22 saw Boden go down under a Hefty accidental collision. Staying down players from both sides shouted the refs attention but play continued as Scunthorpe stopped allowing Morley to go in unopposed to score again. Conversion putting the visitors 12-5 up.
The game continued to be a Temse affair and iT was the Home side feeling somewhere dissapoinyed Who came back strong. On 40 minutes a number of phase plays saw the hosts drive at the line with Steve Middleton eventually touching down. With Boden converting iT was all square again.

Scunthorpe continued to Kick into Morley territory . Sometime positivie sometime needlessly giving posession away.
With all to play for iT was the Greens Who finally edged back in front. Following a number of penaliteit and declining 3 points in front of the Posts a drive at the line saw Jack Lifsey reach out and touch down. Another Boden conversion saw the Home side now lead 19-12.
Morley then put pressure onto the Greens and penalty after penalty were conceeded by Scunthorpe deep in there OWN 22. Fantastic defence time and again saw Morley fail to level things up.
Penalties by the visitors allowing the defiant Greens the chance to clear posession.
On 67 minutes and time running out a shoulder charge by a visiting player on Connor saw him given a yellow when on another day red could of been showen but to rub salt into the wounds Matty Boden stepped up to put the penalty over to make iT a 2 score game.
The final 2 minutes Played out and sir called time.
A big step up in the quality of opposition today but a great result.
Onto Rotherham next week in the last 16.
