Rearranged because of illness on the 20th

Struggling Youth Club go down by 5 points to Nil against Peebles Colts
The Youth Club rearranged their game away to Peebles as the previous fixture before Christmas had to be called off due to players being ill etc.
The hard working coaches of Rodney Pow and Darren Hoggan had managed to muster 15 players to play away at Peebles Colts and despite all the efforts from the squad were unable to return wityh a win.
Peebles started the game well and put the Youth Club under pressure and the Youth Club forwards were having to work extremely hard to defend with the much bigger Peebles forwards trying to burst through. The Youth Club backs looked dangerous at times when they got the ball but found it difficult to find any space. Midway through the half after some intense Peebles pressure they were awarded a penalty and chose to kick into the corner. Peebles won the 5metre lineout and battered away at the Youth Club defence and managed to slip a tackle to score with the conversion drifting wide. Instead of crumbling the Youth Club battled back and were awarded a penalty that Alann Rutter missed. The remainder of the half was a ding dong battle with both teams making mitakes but giving their all. Just before half time Rutter was just wide with a penalty and Peebles kept from increasing their score.
The Youth Club spent most of the second half in the Peebles half but were unable to breach a physical organised Peebles rearguard. Peebles were relying on the odd break out. No matter how the valiant 15 Youth Club players tried they just could not find a way to score. By the end of the game a few players were carrying injuries but carried on as there was no replacements. Peebles were relieved to hear the final whistle.
So far it has been a difficult few weeks for the Youth Club but hopefully some of the players who were not available for whatever reason will come back and help out.
