Narrow win in local derby

In an evenly matched contest the Youth Club scored a try in the first half when winger Nathaniel Armstrong touched down after some good play with stand off Scott Clark knocking over a difficult conversion.
Both teams battled away with neither defence being really threatened as a result of wrong decisions and errors. Play was not allowed to flow but both teams put on an entertaining game for the spectators.
The second half was much the same as the first with both teams giving a 100% but Gala found it difficult to get near the Youth Club try line. The Youth Club did pressurise the Gala defence but were unable to find a way through. It was only in the last 10 minutes or so when Clark kicked over a penalty to make the final score 10 points to Nil.
The Youth Club are away to Melrose Wasps next week and hopefully the forwards might be bolstered with the return of some injured/posted missing players.
