Selston FC has now had formal confirmation that following their successful defence of the Central Midlands League South crown they have been promoted to Step 6 of the non league pyramid. The club will compete in the East Midlands Counties league next season.
Chairman Mark Wilson said "It's great to finally get confirmation in writing from the FA and the EMCL and I'm really pleased that the league and lots of football clubs and other supporters and followers have congratulated us and have welcomed us to the new league. I'm really looking forward to this next step in our history."
The work isn't finished though and Wilson also reminded everyone of the work still reqiured "We have now got to concentrate on getting our funding for floodlights finalised. Our match funding is in place and our bid to the FSIF (Football Stadia Improvement Fund) is going to be formally considered in the next couple of weeks. Early signs are promising. If the funding is ratified, we then have the small job of getting floodlights up and running by the end of September! We've also got other works to complete by the end of the coming season - the new stand needs to be roofed and needs seats fitting to comply with league rules. We need all the financial help we can get, we have a just giving page - https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/hayley-sharpe
It would be great if the football family could continue to help us."
