With some torrential and unexpected rain around 9am our pitch was only just about playable and the match went ahead in rare sunshine. This was never going to be a game of skill in the 'tough mudder' conditions and it was good to see both teams adapting well with some determined rucking and scrummaging. There were some occassional glimpses of good ball handling and darting runs through gaps in the Dinnington defensive line also some good wing play but in the main most passages of play broke down with powerful forward tackling resulting in rucks and the odd maul. Sheffield came out on top with six tries. Congratulations to our new player for his first competitive try since joining our squad, great to see and more to follow, we are sure.
