2021-26

Dear Member

We now approach the end of the “Season” and hopefully the Pandemic. Whilst there has been no formal rugby as we know it for the entire season, the Club has remained busy and active throughout and not an opportunity has been missed to partake in rugby related activities whether it be training, team challenges and playing rugby under modified rules. It is thanks to all our members, volunteers, staff and partners that we have retained a positive, vibrant atmosphere within the Club for the entire season which has brought the Club membership so much closer together.

We now have high hopes of a “proper” season for 21/22 and great things on and off the field.
One small benefit from the pandemic has been to give us time to reflect on Who we are as a club, Where do we wish to go in the future and How we plan to achieve these goals. Over the course of the last year, the General Committee and key personnel at the club, have been heavily involved in the creation of a Strategic Plan to set the future direction for the Club to meet the needs and expectations of all members.

It centres around our Vision, the Club’s values, our Rugby Mission statement and our overall 15 Objectives. This is a working document and has now been completed and ready to be presented to the membership and formally launched at the end of this week. You can access the full document here and all members have been emailed a password to access it.

We have also had constructed a pyramid shaped outdoor exhibit that can be viewed at the Club, which illustrates the key aspects of the Strategic Plan, and we will also organise an in person presentation for members to attend after the start of the new season.

My thanks go to everyone who has contributed so much to the creation of this plan, which I am sure will steer us towards continued growth and success for Shelford Rugby Club.

Best wishes
