Shelford U'16s vs Cambridge U'16s 2nd May @ Cambridge RFC

It seems a long time but at last light at the end of the tunnel!
After a few weeks of training with on average 30 boys present on a Sunday we had our first game in an age!!! To make it even more interesting it’s as local a derby as you can get.
The game format was 4 quarters of 15 minutes full contact

Third quarter starts with a fine attacking kick by Shelford which nearly gets Charlie in.
Shelford on attack again and Frazer goes over to equalise, and a conversion brings Shelford back into the lead 12-10.
Cambridge responded with some strong attacking, but solid Shelford defence denies them.
After good build up work from forwards, Charlie does some great jinking to finish for a converted try.

End of third quarter - Cambridge 10 - Shelford 19

Final quarter and Cambridge are back on the attack and break direct through the number 10 channel to score under posts - but miss the conversion. 19-15.
10 minutes to go and the kick off is picked up by Ollie who finishes for converted try. 26-15.
Cambridge show their character and keep coming back but the Shelford defence is sound.
Tui shows his quality as he is able to break through and score for Shelford before kicking to convert. 33-15
2 Minutes remaining and Cambridge attack through their backs and cross for try with the last move of match to give a final result 33-20.

Final score - Cambridge 20 - Shelford 33
Summary - a great match all round and there will be a few sore bodies tomorrow. Great result boys - well played everyone.
