This year Strikers have just three teams playing 11-a-side football in the Colts League, as Chris Christodoulou’s under-17 side have moved into adult football and will be plying their trade in the Tucker Gardner Sunday League, while Paul Phelps’ under-12 outfit will continue to play 9v9 football.
The oldest Colts team will be Geoff Maskell’s side who have moved up from the under-15s Division C to the under-16s Division C.
Last season they played in an 11-strong division and finished sixth, but this time around the team find themselves in a division of nine and will fancy their chances as the top three from last season have all been promoted.
New teams in the division include Chesterton Villa, Girton Colts, Papworth Blasters and Willingham Wolves.
The busy Chris Christodoulou sees his under-14 team, who finished seventh in the under-14s B Division last year, move up to the under-15 B Division.
It’s a new-look division as only Milton Colts, Strikers, Somersham Town Colts and Arbury Aces remain from a year ago.
Meanwhile, Duncan Cochrane’s side that finished second from bottom in the under-13 Division A last term will be hoping for better things as they drop down into the under-14 division B, along with Arbury Aces and Fulbourn Falcons Colts and play in an 11-strong division.
In a new step for the club, Paul Phelps has decided to remain with the 9v9 format of the game and moves up from under-12s to under-13s.
They are one of nine teams in a new under-13 United 9v9 division. Last season the side finished 10th in Division A.
