Introduction

Welcome to our first newsletter! As a club of our size we appreciate it is difficult to keep abreast of everything that is happening. Going forward this will be a central point where we can update you and share any important messages.
Did you know ?
We are a not for profit club, this means every penny we make is put straight back into the club.
We have recently worked with Employability and HTAFC, to provide a course for adults with a learning difficulty, giving them the skills to work in a football club.
Our First team costs are not paid from the club funds, they are paid for using sponsorship.
Our grounds team have recently won Grounds team of the year at the Grassroots Football Awards.

Fund Raising

We have a huge potential to bring in some income to the club in using our advertising space. This is one way we can reduce the shortfall in overheads. We offer advertising boards around our pitches which are present all year to an average footfall of 1,000 people a week. The club would like each age group section to sell 3 advertising boards each.

We also offer lots of other sponsorship options from match ball sponsors to sponsorship of our Astro turf arena, a budget to suit everyone. If each age group could sell 3 advertising boards it could give us the much needed funds to continue to improve facilities and equipment for the teams and club.

Do you know someone who would be interested in purchasing a sponsorship option? Please contact Sarah on wardboyle2@gmail.com
If you have any questions, would like further information on anything in the Newsletter or wish to offer your services as a volunteer please don’t hesitate to contact Sarah on the above or call into the club house.

Juniors Update

Our U9’s are having a very positive season in the league and the emphasis is on fun and team work in training, we currently have one squad and are looking to increase this next season.

Our U13’s Reds have made it through to the quarter finals, after winning 5-4 on penalties. The U13 Blacks are into the Huddersfield FA Junior Cup Final!

U6, 7 & 8’s began the season with a small squad, this has increased quickly as the season has gone on we have more and more players joining the teams and are in a really strong position to build on the squads for next season. They have gone from strength to strength in the league games.

Our U16’s have doubled in size this year which is amazing due to player drop out at this age. Reds have held top spot in the league most of the season and are in the semi finals of the league cup. Our Blacks as a new team have really developed over the last few months and are pushing for a top four position.

We have four U10’s teams and have gone from strength to strength in the league. They play in the top four divisions in the age groups. They have had the opportunity to play against Man City, Barnsley, Sheffield United as well this season!

After a season rebuilding the U12’s have formed a great team and they are sat at the top of their league with a +82 goal difference! We currently have two teams in our U11’s. The Reds were promoted to division 1 this season and the Blacks made the impressive leap from division 12 to division 5!!

If you know of anyone who is interested in joining a team, please contact Damo on 07935131106.

Seniors Update

Our 1st team have had a great season so far, being their first in the North West Counties League. They have six games left and are still pushing for a top six position.
Our 2nds are still in the Huddersfield and District Cup and are in the top four of their league currently. Our 3rd and 4th team are both enjoying successes in their respective divisions.

Memorial Fun Day – 14 July 2019

We have a fun packed day planned for children and adults; for the annual fun day. The highlight of the day will be a match between parents and our coaches on our 1st team pitch! There will also be plenty to entertain children and adults alike, including a penalty shoot out, sweet tombola, wine and water (one for the adults!), Nerf gun targets and much more. We also have a Challenge for the children where they can get their own back on their coaches, for more details, see in the clubhouse!, We would love to see as many of you there as possible.

1st Team – Final Game of the Season 27 April 2019

Our 1st teams final game of the season will be on the 27 April 2019 at home against Garstang. It would be great to have a big crowd for our last game, if any of our players attend wearing a Shelley shirt, they along with 1 adult will both get free entry on the day.
