‘Drakey’ is no stranger to the club as he returns to Shepshed Dynamo having spent two and a half years as Assistant Manager to Damion Beckford-Quailey. This season, Gary has been Assistant Manager at league rivals Rugby Town.

Gary Joined Dynamo in 2021 from Kirby Muxloe, where he was Assistant Manager. He has worked as a football coach in Canada, New York, where he won academy coach of the year for New York Red Bulls, as well as being a Community and Academy coach at Nottingham Forest, Leicester City & Doncaster Rovers.

Chairman Mick Sloan had this to say, ‘I’d like to welcome Gary Drake back into the Shepshed fold but this time as gaffer.

Obviously, the season hasn’t started as any of us wanted or expected.

Gary knows from his previous time here how the club ticks from the Boardroom to the supporters.

Every single person that’s involved in the club in whatever capacity is an integral part to Shepshed Dynamo.

Gary’s task is to sort the football side out which in turn will bring the buzz and smiles back to our GREAT supporter base.

We WILL turn this around and I’m sure you’ll give him all the support he needs along the way.
