Shepshed Dynamos Midland Football League season ended with a 3-1 defeat to League Champions Hereford F.C. In front of a record crowd at The Dovecote

Hereford F.C hadn't just come to enjoy their league title and were determined to end the season strongly.

Shepshed who had made four changes from Thursday nights victory against Rocester were pegged in their own half by the Bulls in the first twenty minutes.

Although under heavy pressure Mike Symons came the closest for the visitors on eleven minutes but his effort went over the bar.

Dynamos first chance came on twenty minutes but Matt Langhams effort was blocked.

Hereford continued to press the game. John Mills going close twice on twenty seven minutes and twenty eight respectively.

A minute later in front of a packed Butthole Lane End the visitors took the lead. Mills shot from long distance sailing passed Jack Drury who could only watch as the ball hit the roof of the goal.

Shepshed nearly struck back immediately bit Liam Reads shot was just over Martin Horsells cross bar.

The Bulls doubled their lead on thirty one minutes a long throw into the area and Mills was the first to react stabbing the ball passed Drury into the bottom of the goal.

Jimmy Oates then put his free kick over on thirty seven minutes and Jamie Willetts was blocked by Adam Hohn on forty three minutes.

Shepshed came close to pulling one back on the stroke of half time Langham rounding Horsell but Hereford had enough cover to avert the danger.

If the first half belonged to Hereford then Shepshed certainly took the game to the champions in the second half.

Levi Porter having his shot blocked on forty eight minutes and then turned provider two minutes later but Scott Stainlands shot went wide.

Drury then saved from Sridic Grant on fifty three minutes and two minutes later Adam Hohn blocked from Mills.

Hereford were getting closer to a third goal Mills heading wide on fifty seven minutes then JoeTummelty shot straight at Drury. A further minute later Hohn blocked Grants effort.

But it was Dynamo who were to reduce the arrears on sixty three minutes. Sam Moore bursting down the left hand side cutting inside Oates and curling round Horsell in the Hereford goal.

Hereford made it three on seventy four minutes. Grant had been a threat down the right hand side all game. He cut inside to fire passed Drury.

Mills had one further chance for the visitors on eighty four minutes.

The game ended with a needless coming together after a game which was played in good spirits. A rash challenge by Dynamo ended up with an altercation on the edge of the area.

Shepshed took the game to Hereford and can come away with creditibility for their performance against the League Champions. In front of a vociferous crowd.

Another season over one Shepshed Dynamo can be proud of their highest position since 2008.
