Quorn got off to the perfect start and were one up within a minute of the start Liam Reed was found down the left hand side to slot home passed Luke Pickering. Shepshed couldn't seem to be able to clear the ball or deal with balls down the flanks but responded on seven minutes but Adam Vasey shot was saved.

A minute later and what looked an accidental trip was deemed to be a penalty and Dom Brennan doubled Quorn's lead. Quorn were in the ascendancy and after Brennan went close with a header on thirteen minutes, two minutes later Reed's goalbound shot was cleared by his own player.

Shepshed were fortunate a minute later when Chris Gray failed to clear the ball Pickering was alert to clear the danger. Quorn continued to threaten and after an effort went high over the bar on twenty five minutes, eight minutes later after again Shepshed failing to clear at the back through Alvin Jarvis Conor Bennett was forced to clear.

Shepshed's first real chance came on twenty two minutes good work from Courtney Meade led to nothing as his good ball across the box went to no avail. A minute later Quorn made it three Shepshed again being caught down the wings for Reed to slot passed Pickering.

This sparked Shepshed into life Levi Porter making his debut having his shot saved and as the half drew to a close Porter's free kick could only be parried by Quorn's goalkeeper and Vasey was the first to react to tap into the empty net.

Quorn started the second half strong and Brennan was unlucky to add to their tally in forty eight minutes.

Shepshed's best spell of the game came after this Vasey's shot being blocked on fifty nine minutes and thena minute later Porter's shot was cleared his rebound cross going straight across the box, two minutes after this Vasey found Hind who moved the ball to Meade whose effort went over the bar.

Shepshed pulled another goal back on sixty minutes Porter putting Meade through on goal to slot home, three minutes later Meade nearly equalised but his effort went straight into Quorn's keeper.

An entertaining second half continued and Brennan went close for Quorn and then on seventy two minutes a cross come shot which Pickering looked to tip over the bar was misjudged and dropped into the Shepshed goal.

Shepshed hadn't given up Meade going close again three minutes later and then on eighty three minutes Shepshed pulled another goal back a good move between Meade and Hind found Porter to slot home. The hope of getting back into the game didn't last long as Quorn went straight down the other end to make it five three.

This technically killed the game for Shepshed and apart for a few half changes the game seemed to peter out until the last kick of the game Jimmy Brookes at the back for Shepshed was deemed to have fouled in the box the referee using the letter of the law as last man sent off Brookes and Quorn made it six from the penalty spot.

Quorn can now look forward to a second round tie against Basford who were also involved in a nine gaol game and Shepshed move onto the FA Vase tie on Saturday against Oadby.
