As local derbies are always tight affairs and today proved the point today a deserved point for both sides in an exhilarating ninety plus minutes at The Dovecote Stadium.

Loughborough Dynamo were the far better side in the first half with Shepshed giving a free kick away in the first minute former Shepshed player Rob Norris free kick blocked and Brandon Ganley saving from Jonathan White.

Loughborough started with great momentum Mo Bangura was looking good on the wing on seven minutes.

Two minutes later Jake Gibson ball was across the box on to the crossbar but a foul on Ganley.

Loughborough continued into the ascendancy with Bangura into Ganley on thirteen minutes.

Shepshed after being under pressure started to come in to the game on fourteen minutes, Jack Lynch onto James Shaw with James Snedden just wide.

Captain Jordan Smith sent the ball over the top and Lewis King came out to avert Reece Morris on twenty nine minutes.

Loughborough continued to press the game Ganley saving from Bangura on thirty one minutes and two minutes later from Jonathan White.

Loughborough then put the ball over the top and Ganley came out with Bangura going wide on forty one minutes.

Shepshed against the play took the lead on forty three minutes Mason Lee putting the ball through the hands of Lewis King.

From being in front Shepshed allowed Loughborough back in to the game early in the second half a failure to clear the defensive line allowed George Bell to equalise.

Loughborough again were looking the better side and on sixty five minutes they were in front. Ganley punched clear but the ball fell to Jonathan White to slot into the top corner.

This spurred Shepshed on as they pressed the game and equalised on seventy minutes Lewis King came out to stop the advance of Reece Morris Loughborough were exposed and Mason Lee lobbed home from distance.

Shepshed looked in control of the game with Snedden deflected wide followed by substitute who Loughborough couldn't deal with Shaun Ruzvidzo deflected wide two minutes later.

With time running out Shepshed should have been in front Jordan Smith heading home but the assistant referee inexplicably denying the goal with the ball already in the back of the net for an infringement on King.

Shepshed went in front on eighty seven minutes Connor Furey brought down Ruzvidzo with Snedden slotting the penalty away which looked to seal the game.

But no a lack in concentration in injury time at the back allowed Ball to share the spoils.

In fairness a draw was the correct result but Shepshed were put under the sword too much early on but later decisions which weren't given could have changed the result.

Both teams have to be content with the result an exhilarating game for passionate fans of both club's and a great exhibition of local football in front of an exceptional attendance.
