The first half ended goalless but Shepshed had the better of the chances. After four minutes Jay Smedley returning to the starting line up after being a sub on Tuesday put Jones through and although his header was fumbled by Lewis Solly Swifts managed to clear.
Shepshed continued to push forward and on six minutes Jones became the provider but Davies's shot was wide and four minutes later Swifts managed to clear his free kick.
Chances were few and far between and it wasn't until the sixteenth minute when Thacker was alert to come out of his area and avert Stourport's attack. With the half drawing to a close Rob McCormick had an effort blocked, Rob Mulonga put Sam Cook through but his shot like Steve Chaplin's in the last minute of the half went wide.
If the first half lacked chances from the visitors then they came out of the blocks in the second half. Within a minute of the restart Jon Griffin fired passed Thacker to put the visitors in front. Shepshed responded quickly and were level five minutes later a well executed free kick from Callum Thompson beating Solly in the Swifts goal.
In the sixty second minute Shepshed took the lead from a long throw Rob McCormick latched onto the loose ball and fired passed Solly.
The game was becoming a tight and somewhat scrappy affair under tough weather conditions. Chances were hard to come by and as it looked like two straight home wins for Shepshed, Stourport equalised in the 91st minute Jamie Hyde firing into the right corner passed Thacker. There must have been no more than three passes after the restart the referee drew the game to a close leaving the two teams to share the point. On reflection a fair result but agonising for Shepshed to have victory snatched from them at the death in front of one of the higher attendances at The Dovecote this season of 168.
