Shepshed got off to the perfect start and Jay Smedley put Shepshed in the lead after six minutes Gary Hateley in the Heather goal and Smedley's effort was deemed to have crossed the line by the assistant referee.
Heather struck back quickly on the 10th minute they caught Shepshed on the break and Woodbine equalised. Shepshed pressed to regain the advantage two minutes later with Jones onto Chaplin with a good save from Hateley. Again two minutes later Heather over ran Shepshed in the midfield and an error from Ryan Thacker allowed Troy Wallen to give Heather the lead.
Again Shepshed tried to force the issue Hateley saving from Keiron Davies on twenty three minutes and new signing Webb firing wide a minute later.
Just after the half hour mark Danny chapman extended Heather's lead.
The second half was a more scrappy affair Rob Mulonga went close twice early on in the half and maybe if Shepshed had scored earlier in the play they could have clawed something from the game but in the 77th minute Heather extended their lead Troy Wallen slotting passed Thacker.
Shepshed gained a consolation goal five minutes from time with Smedley scoring his second of the game.
Heather resurgence in the league continues and Shepshed will rue missed chances and not turning possession into points.
