It was a reversal of the previous weekend where we clawed a draw in the final minutes Highgate scored with time running out to take all three points in this Baker Midlands Football Alliance game.
Shepshed were far the better side in the first half Steve Chaplin going close in the first minute followed by Chris Gray moving the ball onto Tom Cooper - Richards a minute later but just like Chaplin his effort went wide of Chris Jay's goal.
Shepshed continued to press and Rob Mulonga's cross was met by the head of Connor Bennett but again Shepshed were wide. The hosts third in the league made their first presence in the game on 12 minutes when King's ball onto Nash was moved to Edgington but like prior visitors efforts was also wide of Ryan Thackers goal.
Shepshed then took control of the game Jake Lever moved the ball to Cooper - Richards but Callum Thompson's effort was saved by Jay, two minutes later Bennett's shot was saved by Jay and from the resultant corner Louis Guests header went over the bar.
In the twenty third minute Shepshed gained their just reward a sliced pass by Cooper - Richardds found Thompson on the edge of the box and a well executed effort into the top right hand corner of Jay's goal gave Shepshed the lead.
Highgate tried to respond within three minutes but Rolfe's free kick went wide. Five minutes later Shepshed went in search of their second Bennett moved the ball to Alun Webb, Cooper - Richards miscued the ball and Mulonga's effort was saved by Jay. Highgate counter attacked but Edgington fired over the bar.
On the Thirty fourth minute the scores were level Shepshed failed to clear Lacey's cross and Lei Brown shot passed Thacker into the right hand side of the goal. Four minutes later United looked to advance the score but their free kick went wide of Thacker's goal.
The final chance of the half fell to Cooper - Richards Chaplin had put him through but Jay's made the save.
Highgate nearly took the lead straight from the restart Pulisciano moved the ball onto Brown, Edgington rounded Thacker but Lever was alert to clear off the line.
Shepshed settled and again looked the stronger side on fifty three minutes Chaplin's shot was deflected into the side netting and four minutes later Webb moved the ball to Richards but Jay saved.
Shepshed continued in search of an away win on fifty nine minutes Webb put Bradshaw through again Jay was up to the challenge and a minute later Chaplin set up Webb but his shot was blocked.
A minute later Highgate went close with Lynch shot straight into Thacker and then on seventy four minutes Bradshaw crossed to Chaplin whose header was saved. Highgate counter attacked but Edgington's effort was wide.
Four minutes later and Lynch for the host fired over the top. Four minutes from time Thacker punched clear a Highgate attack and then saved from the resultant clearance.
In the final minute Mulonga moved the ball onto Bennett who passed to Cook his shot rebounded off the post. Shepshed again looked for the winner Bradshaw's ball across the box was met by Pritchard whose effort went wide.
Highgate gained maximum points in injury time Shepshed were caught flat footed on the break Lynch advanced down the right and Lei Brown fired through a melee of players passed Thacker.
Shepshed played a large part in a tie against a side in the mix of the promotion places in the league and should have come away from Tythe Barn Lane with at least a point.
