The latest update from the club relating to home matches

Shepton Mallet AFC – Covid-19 Update

The Government issued extended guidance on Tuesday to address the growing number of Covid-19 cases, these guidelines come into effect today – 24th September. Tonight, the club held an emergency committee meeting and in response to these guidelines the club have had to introduce new measures to ensure the safety of all our supporters and visitors. This will apply to all home matches including reserves and U18’s.
1. We will be using the new NHS Track and Trace QR code to record all attendances. This QR code will be available to scan at the entrance to the ground.

2. Please can we ask all supporters and visitors to download the new NHS Covid-19 App which is available free on the App store or Google Play Store for android devices.

3. If you do not have a mobile device or unable to down load the app, we will continue to take names and contact details as in previous games this season.

4. Please do not attend if you are showing any symptoms, high temperature, a new continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of taste and smell.

5. Temperature checks will continue to be carried out to all people entering the ground, we do reserve the right to refuse entry to the ground.

6. All persons using the club house have to be seated in a maximum group of 6 people and until seated a face mask / covering has to be worn. Standing at the bar is not permitted and we can only offer a table service.

7. The club house will close 10 mins before kick-off and during the game drinks will be served via a temporary serving hatch. After the game the club house reopen but with under the restrictions of point six.

8. For the match this Saturday no food is available. We will review this for future home matches.

9. Please respect social distancing and the rule of six.

10. Please use the sanitising stations in and around the club.

We understand these guidelines are a change to our normal matchday experience. We do hope all our supporters understand and follow the actions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all in these unprecedented times. Please remember that all the staff are volunteers and we kindly ask that they are treated with respect.
