All to be revealed this Saturday!

This Saturday will finally see Crofton Cougars host Kinsley Raiders in what is basically the division 5 title decider, as is well documented by now the Raiders need a win or a draw to lift the Division 5 title, however should they lose the Bears will remain at the top of the league and be crowned champions.

And in all fairness if and its a big if, Kinsley win they will be deserved champions, the only reason that Sherburn are having to rely on the Cougars is because we couldn't find a way to beat Crofton on their own pitch going down 16-12 with a try ruled out on the final whistle for a forward pass.

Credit to Crofton though as many pundits say they are the best side we have played this season in Division 5, home or away. Which leads us nicely onto our next piece of news, fresh from winning our semi final against Selby Warriors second string and reaching the P&S Plate Final for a second successive season, we now know the draw for the semi finals of the Pennine Supplementary Cup, as follows;

Dearne Valley Bulldogs, Siddal A or Moorends A v Victoria Rangers
Sherburn Bears or East Leeds A v Crofton

So there you have it, a win this Saturday would see us in our 2nd Supplementary Cup semi final in 2 years, and with a home draw to boot. First up though is a tough fixture against an East Leeds A who are going very well in division 6, if it hadn't been for a few early losses they would have been on to win the title which looks to have gone to Ovenden. East Leeds are well known to the Bears when they won the play off final in our final season of Yorkshire League rugby piping us 24-22 in a thrilling contest, in fairness the Leeds side were deserved winners having beaten us convincingly at their own ground and picking up a vital away win at Eversley Park.

So the scene is set for an epic battle to reach the semi finals this Saturday, kick off is 2.30pm at Eversley Park.
