With the last weekend being a Yorkshire Cup and local cup date, the Bears were without a fixture. There were two matches in division 2 that saw newly formed again Dewsbury Celtic playing Manston at Dewsbury, and recently reformed and then promoted Moorends play away at Nevison Leap.
Dewsbury continued there impressive run of results with a win over good opposition Manston of Leeds, having played Manston three times last year, including a nail biting extra time victory against them in the play offs, we are all too aware of just how well they can play. Celtics second win of the season see's them leapfrog Batley into second place.
Reformed Moorends travelled to Nevison in Pontefract to play Nevisons Leap. Following a couple of thrashing of some of their division 3 oponents, Moorends were deemed too good for the bottom division and so were moved up, with ryhill Hammers going in the opposite direction. Moorends found Nevison to be a much tougher proposition then there last oponents Northallerton. And finally triumphed 18-28. It seems as though Moorends may turn out to be contenders for this years finals, although Nevision will feel they let Moorends of the hook with some sloppy ball controll and missed one on one tackles costing them dear.
Sherburn travel away to top of the table Acorn this Saturday, 2.30pm ko.
