League & Cup Report 17/10/15
It was Liverpool FA Cups day and in a great day for the League all of our clubs came through against tough opposition. Ormskirk Town entertained Warrington League side Carr Mill in the Second Round of the Intermediate Cup. In the end Town won 3-2 after a match where they were well ahead but stepped off the gas near the end. Town went a goal up after just 15 minutes when Harry McGill's cross was headed home by Eddie Carney. It was soon 2-0 when skipper Jay Baker headed home from a corner leaving Carr Mill in all sorts of trouble. The second half saw Town in total command and star striker Matty Ward made it 3-0 with a typical solo effort. As time ran out Car Mill got a rather fortunate goal and then also converted a soft penalty to make the score look much closer than it really was as Town march into the last 32.
