Poor 2nd half performance costly

The final game before Christmas saw the visit of Ledbury to Mayo Road.Early exchanges saw both sides showing 100% commitment as play switched from one end to the other. The deadlock was finally broken in the 8th minute when a lineout near the Ledbury line was won by Jack Barnard who fed brother Harry to charge towards the line-on being held up Tom Page was on hand to touch down with Rob James adding the extra's -7-0.
5 minutes later Shipston increased their lead when they were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which Rob James easily converted-10-0.
Ledbury came back into the game and they too had a simple penalty to make it 10-3.
On the half hour mark 2 events happened which changed the course of the game.First Ledbury rode their luck when their winger spear tackled Jack Barnard to only receive a yellow for a red card offence and soon after Shipston lost prop Ben Haines to weaken the scrum.
The only remaining score of the half was another penalty for the visitors to make the half time score 10-6.
A close second half was on the cards but failed to materialize as Ledbury dominated it from start to finish and as Shipston tired Ledbury grew stronger and they scored at regular intervals with Shipston rarely venturing into Ledbury's half-truely a game of 2 halves!Final score 10-44.
Man of the Match Andy Hunt-battled to the end!
