It was Shire Colts U11 Sharks’ first game back at Sea Mills Rec since last season and the game didn’t disappoint! Against our North West Bristol neighbours, Westbury Foxes, this match really was a game of two halves!!!
From the start both teams were moving the ball well, using the bigger pitch to their advantage. It was the Foxes who got on the score sheet first with a neat finish, 1-0. Straight from the kickoff Shire Sharks, who were clearly shocked from the goal, played a dangerous pass across their own goal area which led to Foxes scoring again. The visitors went into halftime 2-0 up.
In the interval, Coach Jack got the boys to re-group and told them play for each other, and keep doing what they’re doing in training - overlap passing and “pass & move”! From the off the boys were up for it and worked so hard for each other. The reaction paid off and Shire went on to win the game 3-2! What a great comeback!
Leo F with the Man of the Match performance this week. Well done Shire Colts Sharks!
