Q&A With Joint Manager Simon Dixon

This week i had a short chat with 1 half of the Shirebrook Town management team Simon Dixon who took part in a quick Q&A session and this is what he had to say

First of all how have you found your short spell at Shirebrook so far?
It’s a great club with great people behind the scenes and we have been made to feel at home already. It's a league higher than where we were before but I think we have adjusted just fine.

How has the season ending early impacted your job as joint manager?
The job came about very quickly and the job was to stay up. We had some decent results and close games with some very good sides. We were definitely moving in the right direction and me and Steve more than thought we had enough to stay up. With the league voided we will never know

How is the planning going for the 2020/21 season?
Planning is going well with everyone with alot of time on there hands with the virus keeping many people locked down. We have brought an u18s in which will hopefully bring the youth through to the 1st team. We are hoping to forge links with local sides to feed into Shirebrook town. Hopefully the lads we have will stay and we can attract some players in to give us competition for places.

I think it's time to sell out the players who is always late?
There's a few but if I have to pick one it would be Reggie aka Regan Edridge. Serial offender

Who is the dressing room joker?
There's a few again probably Harris and Mooro

Who spends the longest in front of the mirror after the game?
Nat and I reckon George likes a mirror or two.

Who is the biggest moaner at games or training?
Ryan has got a moan on him he's right sometimes but let's the lads have it when things aren't right

And finally, what are your ambitions for the new season?
We want to hit the league running which will be tough with the quality that's in it. But we back ourselves to get the right lads in and create the right environment for them to be competitive.

Come back soon for part 2 of the Q&A with the other half of our management team Steve Bates
