Shirebrook Town were beaten 3-0 by Sherwood Colliery

MOTM Mitchell
Shirebrook started well with Grant Mitchell testing the Sherwood keeper early on in the game but it was the visitors who took the lead when Tim Gregory saw hit shot saved by Ball but the rebound hit Shirebrook captain Craig Purcell and rolled into the net but Shirebrook pushed to get back into the game and mid-way through the half should have been awarded a penalty when Sam Alcock was flattened by the Sherwood goalkeeper when he came to collect a cross into the box however the ref waved away the shouts from Shirebrook players but Shirebrook chances came and went as Craig Purcell, Grant Mitchell, Owen Ryan and Connor Roberts all went close to pulling Shirebrook level but Sherwood went in at half time with their noses just in front.
The second half showed by Sherwood were unbeaten so far this season as they stepped up a gear and their second goal soon followed when a shot was deflected up into the air and fell to an unmarked Charlie Taylor and in the 71st minute Liam Hearn added a 3rd goal for the visitors as the game entered the final 10 minutes Shirebrook went close to pulling a goal back through sub Max Higginson but he saw his effort saved by the Sherwood keeper and Shirebrook finished the game empty handed.
