Shirebrook got off to the perfect start as the game was less than a minute old when they took the lead when a cross from the left found Jacob France at the back post and he managed to squeeze his shot in from a tight angle. It was all out attack from Shirebrook as they looked to put the tie to bed in the opening 10 minutes as Nathan Jessop, Grant Mitchell, Luke Manlove and Jacob France all had chances to extend the Shirebrook lead but Ingles managed to weather the storm and soon started to get on top and they looked like they had been handed a way back into the game in the 23rd minute when they were awarded a penalty but Michael Ball got down to his left and saved McCourts effort.
However the joy didn’t last long as Ingles were level in the 27th minute when Daniel Tuck levelled the scores. The rest of the half was an end to end game with both teams having chances to take the lead with the best Shirebrook chances falling to Joe Harris and Nathan Jessop but the sides went in level at the break.
Ingles started the second half the better of the 2 teams With Michael Ball being forced into a number of saves however Shirebrook soon started to get back on top and chances again started to fall there way with Jessop and France going closest. The introduction of Josh Turner gave Shirebrook even more of an attacking threat and it almost payed off as the Ingles keeper took to long on the ball and as Turner closed him down the ball hit Turner and could have gone anywhere but it went out for a throw but as they game headed into the last 20 minutes Ingles almost took the lead when Mitch Woodbine hit the post but that was the closest either team came to breaking the deadlock despite an end to end last 10 minutes the game was to be decided by spot kicks.
Both teams scored there first 4 penalties with Nathan Jessop, Kieran Ordidge, Ryan Bates and Joe Harris being the men to take the 4 penalties Shirebrook were handed the advantage when Michael Ball saved Ingles 5th spot kick however Josh Turner also saw his penalty saved and so the teams went to sudden death and 6th penalty for Ingles smashed the crossbar as the pressure fell to Jacob France and he made no mistake to send Shirebrook into the 1st round of the FA Vase.
