Shirebrook Suffer Injury Time Heartbreak
An injury time goal saw FC Bolsover pick up a point against Shirebrook
It was Bolsover who started the game the strongest with them creating a lot of chances and Shirebrook were thankful to goalkeeper Levi Owen keeping the score at 0-0 however Shirebrook began to create chances of there own with Sam Dockwray who was making his first appearance in 2 months after being out with an injury going close with an effort from distance but it was the home side who broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when a long throw found Jack Warwick and his header looped into the net and they managed to hang on to the lead as the sides went in at the break.
Shirebrook came out in full attack mode at the start of the second half and they Shirebrook were level in the 52nd minute when a cross from the left found Brad Swain at the back post and he headed in from a close angle and the game was now end to end with both sides trying to get the next goal and it was Shirebrook who did get it in the 67th minute when the ball fell to Chris Timons on the edge of the box and his shot took a deflection off a Bolsover defender and went into the net and with nothing to lose Bolsover threw everything at Shirebrook for the remainder of the game and Shirebrook looked like they were going to pick up the win that was until 4 minutes into added time when Cameron Hough levelled the score with a header the goal was given by the official on the far side as he thought the ball had crossed the line even though fans of both sides said after the game that they have no idea how he gave it as it wasn’t over the line but with no time left on the clock Shirebrook had to settle for a point.
