Shortwood United welcomed Evesham United to the Meadowbank Stadium for a mid week under 18 league game.
The first half was very even with a Jack Smith long range shot being tipped over the bar by the Evesham goalkeeper and the Shortwood keeper Noah Hunter saving with his feet when the Evesham striker was through on goal. However, late in the half Shortwood took the lead when Tom King latched onto a Luke Coldridge through ball to fire home.
Evesham equalised early in the second half when a clearance on the edge of the Shortwood box ricocheted off the Evesham striker looping over the Shortwood keeper. Shortwood came close to retaking the lead when Charlie Rickard headed a Luke Coldridge cross onto the post. The Shortwood efforts were rewarded with a goal when Fraser Hankins scored in the top far left corner from the edge of the box following a Jamie Apew pass. Evesham pressed for an equaliser but were thwarted by Noah Hunter who saved from close range when the Evesham striker was through on goal.
Shortwood finished this very hard competitive game winning 2-1 by putting in a strong resolute display moving up to 4th in the table.
