Slimbridge U18's v Shortwood U18's

Shortwood United were away to Slimbridge who were the league leaders having won all three of their league games.

Starting strongly, Shortwood came close to opening the scoring with a long range shot from Salim Aziz going just past the post. Slimbridge reacted, with the game becoming an even midfield battle. However, they were stunned when Shortwood took the lead with Luke Coldridge tapping home a Will Davis cross. As Slimbridge applied pressure looking for an equaliser the Slimbridge striker latched onto a long ball and Noah Hunter, the Shortwood keeper, was called upon to make a point blank save with his feet.

The second half was dominated by Slimbridge, however a strong defensive performance by the whole Shortwood team meant that they were unable to create any clear chances to equalise.

Shortwood held on to win the game 1-0 after a tremendous defensive display and displaced Slimbridge at the top of the league table.
