First major post covid club event a great success with a fabulous and glamorous night had by all in attendance at the SRUFC Club Ball!

After the past two years, it was great to dust off the glad rags and come together as a whole club for a night of celebration. Players, coaches, partners, age grade coaches, parents and supporters from across the club came together at Sundorne Castle to enjoy a night of dining, dancing and some drinking to let loose after a fantastic home league game double header by the Senior sides against Uttoxeter.

It was great to see a number of former and current players catching up and parents and coaches also taking the opportunity to chat away from the touchlines over a glass of bubbly before the evening kicked off with a 3 course meal.

Club president Simon Jenkins kicked off proceedings appropriately given the sad news in the week up to the event, as we then raised a toast to the new monarch accordingly.

A delicious 3 course meal, provided by Jennys Catering set the attendees up for the live band, but not before a game of "Heads and Tails" had taken place. With all attendees putting in for the cause, a prize pot of £300 was available to the winner and after a number of rounds and some unsuccessful tactics being put in to play across the table, it came down to Emma Mayers and Ollie Pope. With the option of play or split on the table, they opted to split and each took £150 back to their respective tables. Well done both!!!

It was then the turn of the live band to keep proceedings moving, and The Essentials played a great set to keep everyone up and moving late into the night before the DJ kept revellers partying until the early hours!!

A selection of photos have been added to the club photo section, and if you would like yours to be added then please do upload them "Club Ball Pics" or share with Fudge (treasurer1908srufc@gmail.com) who can add them accordingly.

Plans are already starting to be made for the next one which is proving to be the hot ticket, be sure to get your drinking and dancing partners ready for when the date is announced and tickets go on sale!

Special thanks go to James Plant & Helen Langley for coordinating a large amount of the event in the build up and on the day!

The club would welcome support for any future social events from across the club with hopefully all sections of the club being represented in the planning as well as attendance of these events!
