Bank Holiday Monday means only one thing. Derby Day.
We make our shortest journey of the season, our shortest journey of ANY season as we travel 200 yards down Long Lane to face Wyrley United.
Our hosts have started the season in a solid manner with two victories and a single defeat. Their last fixture was one of those victories, a 1-0 win against Wellington Amateurs on Saturday. They go into the game seventh in the WMRL Division One table although we have the incentive of going level on points with our rivals should we be victorious.
Ahead of the game, manager Matty Lovatt said ‘We made measures to ensure the lads are well rested and fresh for today's game considering the quick turn around. We also have a few lads returning to the squad who missed out on Saturday. I’m confident the lads will produce another blood and thunder style performance but hopefully get that bit of luck that we deserve to bring home 3 points.’
We’re hoping for plenty of support to make it a special atmosphere. Kick off is at 3pm, we urge you to do all you can to be there.
