Pre season at Sileby Town 2017/18

New Season, New Management

Sileby Town will open their league campaign on the 19th August away at Barlestone St Giles.

It will be a new look Sileby that take to the field for the curtain opener.

Pre-season has been challenging with many new faces at the club. However, given the challenge of constructing a new team virtually from scratch, new 1st team manger Ross Perkins can be heartened by some flashes of real quality in games against Woodside FC, Birstall Utd and West Bridgeford. In the latest friendly versus Nottingham Senior League side Ruddington Village the 1st team seemed to gel a lot better running out 6-2 victors.

Town take an XI to Desford at the weekend. The following Saturday (12 Aug) sees the 1st team play East Leake before beginning their season away at Barlestone St Giles on 19th August.

The Reserves also see a new manager in charge as Adam Pochin takes over. He's in the same boat as 1st team manager Ross. There are plenty of new faces plus the young squad that finished in the reserves last season. The Reserves have friendly matches coming thick and fast over the next few weeks, so there is plenty of opportunity for the lads to get fit for the new season.
