Knights back to winning.

A close win

A very early sunday morning was in front of the knights, all the lads would seem to have had an early night and all seemed raring to go. After an amazing previous Monday night training session and very manic fitness session on thursday, the lads took to the pitch.....

As I was reffing, I gave the first kick off to the Raptors......Immediately Jamie Moore was straight in and took the ball for fun, and he ran at goal with a violent strike just wide. This was the way of the first quarter for us. We continued to dominate as Leo Bower, Lewis Cook and Jamie Moore pushed forward. Very quickly Jamie Moore bagged his second strike with ease, dodging the defense of the Raptors. Knights 1 Raptors 0 Not long later he did it again with ease. Knights 2 Raptors 0

The second quarter was of similar flow with Lewis Cook having two very good chances crossed in from Jamie Moore volleyed first time just wide. Leo Bower was on fire as he also had some quick runs as he found space but couldn't put it in this time. spencer cook was always in the way and The Raptors didn't seem to get into our half and appeared to struggle in defense and attack which left Jack Haigh, Alfie Spicer and Tommy Coburn with a quiet 20 minutes, then Jamie Moore put in his hat trick with style......... Knights 3 Raptors 0

Then as the third quarter started, the Knight went to sleep. edward newiss was in defense and did his best to stop their strikeforce along with Alfie Spicer but they seemed weary. The Raptors had a twinkle toes as a forward and he just showed some amazing skill to whip it round all the defense and Jack Haigh. As soon as we had taken the kick off, the Raptors were at it again, 2 goals in quick succession. This was getting itchy as we wanted our first win.....

The last quarter was nip and tuck, both teams were up and down the pitch. Both keepers were saving shots and as i was called by Graham....."How long " I whispered 2 mins! That was the longest 2 mins Ive ever had to ref...........

Thankfully we won 3-2. Good game and close knit

Man of the match goes to Jamie Moore for hi fantastic movement on the pitch , 3 goals and up and down tracking. well done!!

Jon :)
