Schøneman had most of his usual soldiers available for today's game against St. Davids that always has a strong lineup, especially up front. It only took 5 minutes before we realized this as a freekick outside our box was put in the top corner by one the strikers without much chance for Lucas in our goal. Another bad start like last weekend where we were behind after 2 minutes. But fortunately we came out with same spirit as last week and managed to fight our way back in the game towards the end of first half. So although St. Davids strikers kept testing our defense we managed to keep the score at 1-0 at halftime.
In second half we started to put more treat in the other end, especially with Brian US and Peter Boe creating a few chances. After 55 mins, Brian US showed that he also knows how to curl in a freekick - excellent equalizer, that gave is even more spirit and hopes. 5 minutes later our pressure resulted in a corner, and Peter Boe put a great cross that found Captain Stereo all alone 1 meter from goal - 2-1 lead and great comeback spirit! Unfortunately a clever move by St. Davids striker to get a cheap penalty tipped back the momentum to their side followed up by a 3-2 goal put in with the shinpads with 5 mins to go. We tried our best to sweat out all the alcohol from Saturday night in the last five minutes to get the equalizer but instead the game was closed to 4-2 in the very last second. Maybe a fair result as St. Davids were more clinical with the ball today, but it always feels shit to loose a game where take the lead with 20 mins to go.
MOM was awarded to Brian US after a great performance both ways on the midfield topped with an excellent goal.
Thanks to St. Davids and the ref for a fair and competitive game.
