A very strong line-up for today's game but we did not have the best start with DHL putting a bit of pressure on our defense. Domino was required to show off in the goal after 15 minutes when one of the Lund brothers forgot that we were not playing handball and committed a penalty. Luckily Domino went to the right side and used his knees to save the penalty in style. From this moment we started to wake up and play football, and Skov and Thisen had some good chances before they were replaced by another deadly duo up front, Lightning Leslie and Stabell aka Locomotive. The latter showed how to be clinical with the finishes as he converted an assist from Boe after 30 mins to make it 1-0. Unfortunately a great DHL strike from just outside the box left Domino without a chance five minutes later. 1-1 at halftime.
In second half we had things more under control although we did not manage to create enough chances except a lot of set-pieces that we did not convert. At least until the 75th minute, when Stabell put in another great corner that was met by Mr Ginger, Lars Skov. A great header from Skov with just enough power to pass the keeper and secure the 2-1 win and continue our strong start to the new season!
MOM votes were well distributed with many good efforts but Lucas was sent off to Australia with the title as a thanks for many great effort for the Vikings the last half year!
Thanks to the ref for controlling the game very well, and to DHL for a fair and even game.
