11 AM Sunday kickoff will never be a favorite for thirsty Vikings, and Rafa probably expected to choose the lineup based on the least drunk guys showing up. Surprisingly almost everyone showed up on time looking fresh, and we seemed ready from the first whistle for once. Only two minutes in, Skov used his shoulder to make it 1-0 after a perfect cornerkick from Stabell and midway in first half Skovs loverboy Peter Boe doubled it with a good shot over the head of Racings keeper.
Unfortunately the early lead meant that we started to slow down the play a bit too much, and allowed Racing to get back in the game, and shortly before halftime they made it 2-1 after a set piece. Second half continued with Racing having the momentum, and it only took them another 5 minutes to make it 2-2. That should be a wake up call for us, but we never really managed to pull ourselves back up. Luckily we had a strong bench today, meaning we still had energy left for counter attacks all the way to the last minute. With 5 minutes to go that paid off as our bald brothers Thisen and Stabell teamed up with Jonas to run from Racings defense leaving Stabell with a tap in. In the last seconds, Stabell and Skov copied the cornerkick from first minute making the final result 4-2. Not pretty today, but 3 points is always a success.
MOM shared by Peter Boe and Lars Skov.
Thanks to Racing and the ref for a good game in great spirit.
