BUSY EASTER FOR UNITED
HANLEY HOME SATURDAY, WIDNES AWAY MONDAY

It is going to be a busy few days this coming Easter Bank Holiday when Skelmersdale United will have two fixtures over the weekend on Saturday they welcome Hanley Town to the Community Stadium Burscough, with defeats in their last two encounters, by Champions Macclesfield & Promotion chasing Witton Albion, Uniteds play-off hopes are now well and truly over.

They face Hanley Town who have been under a bit of resurgent in recent weeks, clawing their way out of the bottom 4 with 3 impressive wins, including a 4-0 win over 1874 Northwich, and a 2-0 triumph against Bootle.

Skem will travel to Widnes on Bank Holiday Monday The Merseyside club are not yet clear of relegation worries themselves, but showed spirit when defeating Workington last Saturday.

With 4 games remaining, United can look back on a decent first season back in the NPL, having lost former Manager Paul McNally back in September and Richard Brodie taking time to get acclimatized, the club can look back with some pride in the 15 wins they have achieved so far this season, they have also not drawn a single league game all season, you will have to go back over 100 years to find the last time this occurred.
The 1920-21 season saw United play 18 games without a draw, surprisingly enough they also achieved the fate in the previous season, playing 26 games, winning 22 on their way to winning the Liverpool County Combination, can United maintain the record till the end of the season ?
