Skelmersdale United FC are looking for talented, committed and ambitious local footballers who wish to join a semi-professional academy in the Northern Premier League (NPL) where you will study for a BTEC in Sport qualification (Level 3), train every day with an UEFA qualified coach and play your games at NPL grounds where all games are filmed.
The Skelmersdale United ‘Education and Football Academy’ is part of the NPL Football Academy and is an alternative to college and is ideal for any 16-19 year olds who wants to gain a great education and develop as a footballer at the same time.
The NPL Football Academy is one of three leagues at step seven of the pyramid system that is a league wide education and football programme which also consists of the Southern League (theslfa.co.uk) and the Isthmian League (theilfa.co.uk). Together, they are part of the ESPFA (English Semi-Professional Football Academy) the overarching organisation of this unique concept.

At the Skelmersdale United FC Academy you will study, train and play full time.
STUDY:
– Alternative to college
– BTEC in Sport 3 (Diploma & Extended Diploma equivalent to 2/3 A Levels)
– Two year programme
– Study in the classroom with your team mates

TRAIN:
– Experienced & UEFA qualified coaches
– Train three/four times a week
– Improve technical ability and fitness on a daily basis
– Opportunities to train with the reserves/development squad and first team

PLAY:
– In the NPL Football Academy League and Cup
– Opportunities to play in the FA Youth Cup
– Games played at Northern Premier League stadiums
