Bootle home Saturday 15th

Skelmersdale United are closing in on completion of this seasons NPL-West Division and will finish their Home campaign this coming Saturday 15th April when Bootle visit the Burscough Community Stadium for what was billed as the "M58 Derby" but with United's relocation it is now the "A59 Derby"

United will want to go out in style, having been so close to a play-off position just a few weeks ago they will now settle for mid table, Bootle on the other hand have still got it all to play for and are just 3 points out of the relegation play-off zone. defeat could see them in a last week decider against fellow strugglers Glossop.
A number of former "Blues" in the shape of prolific scorer Andy Owens and Matty Hamilton will be in the visitors ranks but they will get no welcome until after the final whistle.

United will travel to face Leek Town the following Saturday, Leek are in 3rd spot and are likely to rest a number of players ready for the following weeks Play-off encounters. United will be looking to make it 14 games won on their travels, not quite a record the previous best being 16 in both 2012-13 when United won the NPL North and 2010-11 after being pipped for the league title by Chester, it is however a fantastic achievement for a side finishing mid table.
United will have a record on their hands if they fail to draw any of the remaining games, they will have gone a full season without a share of the spoils, the last time they did that was back in 1919-20 season, that was when only 26 games where played. We will have to consult the record books to see if a team in the NPL has ever gone a full season without a draw.
