Mossley 1-2 Skelmersdale United

Skelmersdale United produced another outstanding display on Saturday, travelling to high flyers Mossley and coming away with a well deserved 2-1 win.
It was United's 5th win on the bounce and their 10th triumph on the road, only bettered by next weeks opponents Macclesfield, that has seen Richard Brodies side climb from the bottom 4 to 9th in the league, the win moving them ever closer to the Top 5, they are now just 4 points behind Clitheroe in the last Play-off spot.

Skem claimed all 3 points thanks to a Elliott Morris goal on 63 minutes, his header at the back post was kept out by Keeper Watson, the youngster acting quickest to drill the ball home from close range, United added to their total when central defender Joe Herbert, called into action as a emergency stiker fired home the second with 3 minutes remaining.
Mossley did pull one back right at the death through Andy Keogh but it was never going to be enough as United ran out comfortable winners on the day.

Brodie was obviously delighted with the win "Its another 3 points on the board, it was hard work first half but we showed a bit of class as the game wore on, the lads have got a winning spirit and it showed, it shows how far they, as a unit have progressed, they were all dispointed conceeding that last minute goal.
We face Macclesfield next week and to us its a free hit, no one expects us to win, they are walking away with the title but its football, we have got an exceptional team spirit and a winning mentality, so who knows what the 90 minutes will bring"

Mossley- Watson, Sheppard, Clee, Butterworth, Dickin, Killock, Hickman, Keogh, Bailey, Faws, Payne Subs Etaluku, Marsden, Bannister, Richardson, Camara
Skelmersdale United- Torrance, Hagen, Freeman, Jackson, Lees, Bell, Morris, Djalo, Crofton, Gallagher, Murphy, Subs Herbert, Gerrard, O'Brien unused Hamilton, Mcloughlin

United have now played 32 League games this season, won 15, lost 16 and are the only team in the whole of the Footballing Pyramid not to have drawn a game this season, manager Richard Brodie will no doubt be happy with a point next weekend.
