Its, as you were at the top of the North West Counties League as both the top 2 won on their travels, Skelmersdale United travelled to promotion chasing Congleton Town. On a wet night, Mikey Howard was the hero of the night with two goals and a class strike from midfielder Abdul Djalo saw United collect all three points.
Whilst league leaders Macclesfield were collecting the points at AFC Liverpool in a 2-1 win. The results leave Macc 5 points clear at the top with the sides set to clash at the JMO this coming Saturday.

It was a cagey opening from both sides before Howard opened the scoring for United on 34 minutes, his shot from inside the box just evading keeper Patten.
The second half started in dramatic fashion, first a class strike from United’s midfield dynamo Adbul Djalo that was of the top draw, giving Skem a 2 goal cushion, Congleton hit back within a minute as prolific marksman Arron Bott reduced the arrears. Bott’s goal spurred on the home side and United had to withstand a constant bombardment, Joe Herbert and Mikey Grogan putting everything on the line to protect the lead.
Mikey Howard sealed the points for United on 87 minutes, a break from the back saw the youngster set free to fire home.
It was another tough night for United but their collective spirit shone through
