Prior to Saturday's game youngster Elliott Morris picked up "Player of the Month Awards" from both the Supporters & the North West Counties League. 90 minutes later he has picked up 2 goals and a Man of the Match Award with a dazzling display.

Skem came out on top with a 2-0 win against Northwich Victoria.
The Blues dominated possession almost from the first whistle with several chances in the first half. They were eventually rewarded in the 28th minute when Elliot Morris latched on to a through ball and slotted past the Vics ‘Keeper.

The away side had very few chances apart from a shot from Barski which went wide of the target. Skem had further chances in the half to add to their lead, with Mikey Howard and Morris getting plenty of crossed into the box.

The second half started in the same vein with Skem putting pressure on the away side.
As the game went on there were a few scrappy moments with neither side really taking control and the odd misplaced pass here and there. Northwich had slightly more possession in the second half and more chances but found the home defence in good form.

Skem came close in the 65th minute to increasing their lead but Howard’s shot was saved and Danny Mitchley put his shot wide. Jay Salkeld came close when his thunderbolt of a shot cannoned off the crossbar. United managed to add to their tally 11 minutes from time when Morris got on the end of a cross to make it 2-0.

Northwich had a few half chances but were unable to get past United Goalie and Captain Ben Barnes, who claimed a clean sheet in a good win for Skem.

Paul McNally was obviously delighted “Vics came here played some good football and made us work very hard, they are a strong physical side, I was very happy to get the three points”
