Pre-first World War there was known to be four teams playing out of Slaithwaite. Slaithwaite Whites, Slaithwaite Juniors, Slaithwaite Albion and Slaithwaite Rangers continued playing until the 1960's.
Slaithwaite Saracens formed in 1995 and was based at the Star Pub. The open age played for nine years without winning any silverware however did appear in a Huddersfield Cup final in 96/97.
In 2003 the club took over the Working Mens club on Commercial Street.
