Slough v Tadley

Slough made a strong start and a cross kick from Colby Short allowed Aman Grewal to open the scoring 10 minutes in. Unconverted. (0-5)

Tadley retaliated with their own unconverted try before a dominant Slough pack pushed Matthew Fenwick over the line via a maul to regain the lead. (5-10)

Again Tadley levelled the score. (10-10)

An overthrow at lineout next saw Joe Sole barge over from the 22 to score before a bullocking run from Ben Farrelly set Grewal up for his second try of the day. (10-20)

Another try immediately followed as Sam Rowe crossed the line from the resulting kick off, successfully converted by Max Miles to end the half with a healthy 10-27 Greenie lead.

Slough continued their good form into the second half when a try for Short after a series of forward drives and a second for Rowe after a mazy run, both converted by Miles, lengthened Slough's lead early on ( 10-41)

A brief flurry of activity next saw Tadley add three tries to their tally as both teams began to tire and the game became somewhat scrappy, ending with a successful penalty for Rob King in the closing moments- a resounding Greenie victory ( 25-44)

“Until Slough tired and a raft of injuries forced changes in last 20mins this was a well drilled performance to maintain Slough's unbeaten league run in 2017. If it wasn't for some basic handling errors it might have been 60 points. But lack of fitness and loss of shape in last 20 meant we conceded too many tries before finishing the stronger of the two sides.”
