With a number of key players out until the New Year, second team players stepped up and gave a good account of themselves with 3 making their first team debuts.
Bletchley managed to get points on the board relatively quickly as Slough were slow to warm up into the game. With Bletchley having a 0-19 lead, Slough came back with some great play leading to a penalty try being given. Billy Young then went on to get a second Slough try with a great run down the wing in the next two minutes to bring the score to 12-19. More great play and pressure from Slough saw them score another try with Brad Pennington getting on the scoreboard for this one, and a conversion from captain Max Miles.
After the break, Slough took their foot of the gas which lead to Bletchley scoring a couple of tries widening the gap with the score. Slough showed they were in it for a result though with a try from Tom Young after 72 minutes to bring the score to 24-33. In the last few minutes of the game both teams showed their desire to win, both scoring tries with Sloughs coming from Ben Foster, converted again by Max.
Final score 31-45 with Slough taking a bonus point from the game.
With two weeks off now, they can all rest up and recover ready for the first game back after Christmas on 4th January.
