Second half 'scrum fest' ends fairly even apart from late Frewin try

The game was pretty even until the 13 minute when Kevin Dunne took a quick tap penalty to score near the posts, however, the ref had spotted an infringement and disallowed the try.
After 18 minutes some good attacking play from Slough on the right wing led to a scrum. Rendall picked up from the base and drove infield, quick ball to Dunne allowed him to step back inside and score under the posts. Dunne converting his own try.
Shortly afterwards Frewin's quick reactions allowed him to kick a loose ball into the Windsor half for a foot race that he would normally have won. I think he must still be working off the Christmas pies as the cover beat him too it !
The game ebbed and flowed with Leighton-Pope, Spiller, Grewal, Hoon, Rendall and the rest of the pack putting in a lot of work to ensure that Slough were still causing Windsor problems. In the final 5 minutes of the half Windsor managed to sustain some pressure in the Slough half which resulted with them scoring a try in the far right hand corner on the stroke of half time. Unfortunately they missed the conversion.
7 - 5 half time.
The second half allowed the super fit set of Slough forwards to show off their wares. The best being club Chairman Nick Hoon who appeared from a ruck with ball in hand and like a greyhound set off for the Windsor line, only to realise after about 5 yards that he was still in his own half so very quickly looked for the covering defender so that he could take the tackle, go to ground and have a rest.
43 minutes saw Slough cross the line out on the left after some great work from the forwards (great to see Raj back in a Slough kit) but unfortunately a desperate Windsor tackle managed to knock the ball from the hands of Wheatley.
An injury to Windsor meant that scrums went to uncontested. Slough had been making yards every time that Rendall picked up from the base, hence uncontested mean't a rethink of game plan.
The game then went into a period where the ref must have run out of air having to keep blowing his whistle (or was this a deliberate ploy by both sets of forwards to get their breath back ?).
On 45 minutes Slough were attacking on the Windsor 22 when the ref saw an infringement in front of the posts. Dunne duly converting the penalty.
The game continued as a bit of an uncontested scrum fest with Windsor and Slough taking turns to venture into each others half.
With the game drawing to a close Slough worked their way inside the Windsor 22. After a series of scrums and infringements from Windsor a quick penalty by McNeaney went inside to Dunne who once again tried to step the whole of the Windsor defence until he was caught just short. McNeaney recycled quickly back to the right and Rendall barged to just short of the line. As he went to ground he popped to Frewin who was on his right shoulder who dived over to secure the win for Slough.
From a tight angle Dunne kicked a good conversion to make it 17 - 5 to Slough at full time.
