Slough "Pink and Blacks" pay tribute to Susan Scott with a minute's applause and an excellent performance as they also welcome back Ashleigh Ball....

It was a weekend when all Slough teams were truly on the ball against good oppositions and remembering Susan Scott, put in some great performances that she would have been proud of.

Brief sumary:

Ladies 1s, back to strength, again dominanted the game against Bristol Firebrands and played well keeping doof possession but only showing a slender lead at half time. They were more decisiove in front of goal in the second half and extended the lead although Firebrands fought back and converted one of two penalty flicks. Slough howwever finished comfratbly with all 3 points with a 3-1 win.

Ladies 2s playing away to Reading Ladies 3s fought hard and well against a solid opposition. They came away with a 1-1 draw although they were only denied a win through an umpiring blunder when a well taken winning goal was judged to be high - the umpire missing the clear deflection on a flat hit strike. Despite this the Ladies were in good spirits having played so well.

Mens 1s faced Bracknell Men and it was a tense match with both sides working hard in the first half but coming in at 0-0. The second half was a different matter totally with Slough better in attack and threatening regularly. Slough worked themselves to 3-0 up with some excellent goals and in particular the excellent attacking play from their young stars, Ajeet and Avjeet. The team worked well together and whilst Bracknell got a consltaion goal, it was good defensive play that emanbvled Slough to have a buffer of 2 goals.

Mens 3 faced a good Teddington team with some excellent experienced players in midfield. Slough Men generally commanded the game but at only 1-0 up at half-time there was all to play for. A strong first 15 mins in the second half gave SLough a deserved 3-0 lead to which they added a late fourth goal and Teddington getting a good consolation to finish at 4-1.
