and the team from Romford scored on a powerplay, through Brandon Webster, as Liam Underdown sat out the first penalty of the match. Two further goals, from Ewan Hill and Tommy Huggett, both unassisted, saw off Matt Smital in Slough's goal, a rare poor start from him! It is entirely possible that this three goal deficit did the home side some good as it is a long time since the Jets have had to come from so far behind. But you cannot argue with a six - nothing middle period. A brief 'roughing' bout at the 20:00 minute mark saw Harry Wright and David Hitchings into the bin and Sean Norris and Lukas Smital both scored before their return to the ice.
Harry Harcup levelled the scores at 25:23 and a brace from Smital, both assisted by Sam Talbot, took Slough back into familiar territory. Talbot completed the period scoring at 39:42.
The third period ran pretty much to form with another two goals from a 'hungry' player/coach, back on home ice for the first time since December, and a powerplay goal from Danny Rose. The game became a little niggly towards the end but Slough were able to ride the challenges as they kept the pressure on the excellent Bradley Windebank in the Raiders goal. Hitchings, Webster and Hill combined to score a very late consolation goal at 59:21 for the visitors.
Again, a good home crowd at the Hangar. Lets hope that it is even better for next Saturdays BIG clash against Oxford. Our penultimate game and still top spot up for grabs!!
