This was always going to be a tricky encounter, made more so because the Jets had to win to secure the League title.

Also, Peterborough are masters of the quick counter attack on their own ice and the visitors were a little fortunate several times as the tactic was working well for the Phantoms in the first period; only thwarted by Matt Smital in goal, or by some wayward shooting. Sean Norris secured a lead in the final seventeen seconds of the first period, on a powerplay.

The Jets had a better middle stanza but had difficulty beating the excellent Dan Lane in the home net. Phantom's levelled at 34:21 through Jordan Liddell as a bench minor saw Slough shorthanded, but a rapid counter, Norris again, restored the lead.

The third period was dominant for the Jets, with returnee Timo Lindgren in fine form. At the final whistle, the celebrations began, and a great, noisy crow of Slough fans celebrated with the team.
