The majority of the team turned up at The Sedgemere Social to cheer Shirley Athletic on against Walsall Phoenix on a wet Saturday afternoon on the final day of the season.

Walsall needed to beat Shirley Atheltic by 7 goals to take the title on goal difference but a spirited performance by Shirley Athletic cheered on from the sidelines by Smithswood and managed from the sidelines by Paul Ryder, held them to only the 4 goals.

All the Walsall Phoenix team gracefully came over to congratulate the team and a few even said that it was deserved and the lads had been the best team in the league.

Onwards and upwards as Smithswood look forward to the challenge of the Premier League next season which will see new challennges in the form of Village A, Crusaders A and Boldemere A
